As mentioned in my previous Blogpost, I will be introducing a set of specific topics / categories to this blog. Typically, we make our Fitness Resolutions in January. Well, I’m a little late to the party. But never mind. It’s the beginning of a new month and a good time to turn over a new leaf. Please join me in welcoming The Fitness Report.
At the beginning of each month, I propose to Rev Up our Fitness Motivation with a summary of my Fitness Goals, Routines and the things that Inspire me to Get in Shape, from the Tunes that keep me moving to Recipes that make Healthy Living a Breeze.
MY CURRENT FITNESS ROUTINE
Gary and I have been trying something new for the last two months. I seriously struggle getting up in the morning and as a consequence always end up late for work. So we decided to wake up an hour early (at 6am) and go for an hours walk each morning. This has multiple benefits. For one, it gives me some time to properly come to my senses. I’m just not the type of person that can hop out of bed and be wide awake. It also means that I can catch a breath of fresh air and get my body moving for at least 5 hours every week. Moreover it gives me a chance to relax and collect my thoughts before I start work. And finally it’s training for our future dog ownership 😛 So far this extra hour in the morning has done wonders improving my mood and I feel much more alert at work.
THE FITNESS PRODUCT YOU NEED TO TRY
We have had a couple of really hot days the past 2 months. Last Saturday I nearly passed out from dehydration. Unfortunately I am a bit of a Sweaty Betty and these hot days have not been my friend in this department (sorry if this is TMIF). My new discovery and saviour has been the Mitchum Advanced Anti-Perspirant and Deodorant range. Unlike other Deodorant and Anti-Perspirant products that I have used in the past, Mitchum keeps me smelling fresh and sweet the whole day long. Evenmy boyfriend stated that my smell has much improved. So if like me, you would like to get rid of the Pong, you might want to give Mitchum a try.
THE TUNES THAT KEEP ME MOVING
MY HEALTHY LIVING MENU
In an effort to get back in shape I’ve decided to give the Fast Diet a whirl. I have been on a lot of diets in my lifetime, far too many, if I say so myself. But this one is unlike any other I have tried. It doesn’t take a genius to grasp the concept: You eat normally for five days and fast (eat less than 500 calories) for two. The fasting periods are supposed to switch your Body from Regeneration Mode to Fixing Mode and help you reach your ideal natural weight. I am currently fasting on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I will admit that some days are easier than others. I will start the day with a yoghurt and some fruit, skip Lunch and then have meat and salad for dinner. I also make sure to drink a lot of water and tea and the fasting day, to cleanse my body.
I would just like to note for the younger ones of you, that the Fast Diet is not recommended for teenagers.
THE WORKOUT VIDEO I WANT TO GIVE A GO
What I wouldn’t give to be as fit as some of the other girls out there, such as Fleur who goes to the Gym every morning orVivianna who has been training for a Marathon. Unfortunately I’m not. But I would like to be and I’m slowly easing myself into it. A well as taking a walk every morning, I plan to partake in Adrienne’s 30 Days of Yoga Challenge for the whole month of August. As well as improving my general fitness this should hopefully increase my flexibility and strengthen my back. Let’s check back in next Month and see how I’m doing.
